Florence church of Christ
About Us

Who are we?

The Florence church of Christ is not a place, but rather a people. United in Christ, with God as our Father, we are a family, meeting in a common place with a common goal. Our goal is to be the church you read about in the New Testament in the first century.  We are simply a group of believers in Christ who have obeyed the New Testament plan of salvation; who try to work and worship according to the pattern of the New Testament; who meet regularly for Bible study, worship, and fellowship, and who seek to share the good news of our Savior with others.

We are not part of any denomination.  We are "pre-denominational". Although there are many congregations of the churches of Christ throughout the world, each congregation is independent and self-governing, with Christ as our only Head. We have no earthly headquarters, and congregations are bound to each other only by their mutual adherence to the Bible as the only rule of faith and practice in religion.  We seek to be Christians only, to speak where the Bible speaks and to be silent where the Bible is silent.
